Hey Hey It's Monday

Alright back to the grind of the work week. For me, Mondays are a great day to go ahead and take care of all the house and yard stuff as it tends to be a slow day for events in our area.

But if you are enjoying the foods and sights in OC this evening you can watch fireworks on the beach around 10 p.m. at North Division.

The Humane Society of Wicomico County is holding a benefit at Chipotle Mexican Grill from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. and 50% of proceeds go to that organization.

In Somerset County go check out The Somerset Ruritan Carnival located next to the civic center fron 6:30-10:30 p.m.

This should be an exciting event. Awesome cars, music and atmosphere and a great forecast should make for a great day trip to Crab Town.

It's really hard to appreciate the beauty and hard work that goes into restoring classic cars until you get up close. I have come across cars that gave me goosebumps!

Outdoors Delmarva on WBOC

We are so glad that WBOC has made some changes on this local programming they have.

Captain Willie and Andrew Tawes make and excellent team. While the Parker guy who previously worked with Cap Willie seemed like a nice enough guy...he's not from here. And our outdoors-men here want to hear from someone that knows first hand and from their own life experiences what is biting and up for chasing through the woods. The first time I saw the Parker guy doing the segment I knew it was going to be a bust.
Just wanted to address that! lol

Rt. 13 by the Overhead Bridge in Salisbury

Alright. The central part of Rt.13 in Salisbury is just a wreck! From the roads to the outdated commercial buildings and the residences along the highway.

Now we all understand that unfortunately this is a more undesirable part of town. But I'm sure that doesn't mean that all should just turn their backs and let it continue to become more rundown.

The weak economy has contributed to the business owners in that area to slack on maintenance and upkeep on their property.  However...it is time for them and the landlords to get some gallons of paint, plant some damn flowers and live greenery and get busy!

A little color and TLC would do wonders for the area. Our buildings are so outdated in that sector that they should just go ahead and clean it up and work on a "retro" look for the area.

We have several great places to eat and spend our money along the depressing looking route, but who wants to stop there when it all looks so dumpy. NOT ME!

We want to hear any good ideas to help the area get motivated to liven the area up.

Last Weekend In July!

Okay Delmarva, this is your last chance for weekend fun for July '13.

This weekend doesn't seem to have too many events happening but here are a few we found.

Somerset County Fair- fairgrounds open at 8 a.m. with indoor exhibits starting at 9 a.m.

Chincoteague Fire Company Carnival - grounds open at 7 p.m.

Movies on the Beach in Ocean City will be showing Spy Kids 4.

Also there are a few concerts on the beach in Rehoboth Beach featuring adult contemporary music.

Way to GO Berlin Little League

We just want to congratulate Berlin Little League on their win last night.  Another step on the road to WILLIAMSPORT and the big showdown.

You guys should be very proud of yourselves. You have stuck it out and played hard game after game.

Good job boys!

Things To Do Today

We have alot of events happening on Delmarva this week.

Today is the Pony Swim in Chincoteague. If you have never been, GO. Take bug spray just in case though. Sources tell me that the skeeters have been very tolerable this summer. However, we did get some rain recently so better sprayed than sorry!

Also, the USSSA World Series is still going on. If you are unfamiliar with this event. It is girls softball.  These kids are out there playing their hearts out so if you're into watching a great game for free. There you go.

This evening in OC you can enjoy "Concerts on the beach" beginning around 8 p.m. or relax with a movie on the beach beginning at 8:30 p.m. This evening they are show "Brave".  Great movie!

On the Delaware end of our Delmarva you can spend some time checking out the Delaware State Fair. Along with fabulous foods and rides you can visit all of the agricultural exhibits and contests.

With lower temps today and only a slight chance of rain anyone should be able to enjoy a wonderful day out and about.
